Sikkim
Sikkim is a pretty state in northeast India, next to Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, and West Bengal. It has many different plants and animals and a mountain weather. Kangchenjunga, the highest mountain in India, is here. The capital city is Gangtok. More than a third of Sikkim is a protected park called Khangchendzonga National Park, which is special to the world. Sikkim used to be ruled by Buddhist kings and became India's 22nd state in 1975. Now, many languages are spoken here, and there are many groups of people. Tourism and farming are important. Sikkim is known for its beautiful Buddhist monasteries like Rumtek and Pemayangtse. Many farms here grow food without chemicals, making Sikkim India's first all-organic state. With snowy mountains, green valleys, fun festivals, and friendly people, Sikkim is a calm and spiritual place.
