5 Must-Visit Temples in Amritsar for a Divine Experience
Amritsar is the religious capital of Punjab, well-known due to the famous Golden Temple but also with a lot of glorious temples for the Hindu community. Full of culture, history, and devotion, these temples provide a distant experience. When visiting Amritsar, there are five temples that are good to visit:
1. Durgiana Temple – Amritsar's Mini Golden Temple
Address: Lohgarh Gate, Amritsar
Also known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Durgiana Temple looks very similar to the Golden Temple because of its beautiful architecture with a golden dome and a holy water tank surrounding it. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga, Lord Vishnu, and Goddess Laxshmi and is an important religious place for Hindus.

2. Mata Lal Devi Temple - The Mini Vaishno Devi of Punjab

This colorful and distinct temple is dedicated to Mata Lal Devi, a female saint believed to possess miraculous powers. Also known as the Vaishno Devi Temple of Amritsar, it has winding tunnels, ankle-deep paths of water, and beautiful mirror work on the wall - a delightful experience for devotees.

-The structure of the temple resembles the Vaishno Devi Shrine in Jammu.

3. Shri Ram Tirath Temple - Birthplace of Lav and Kush
Location: Ram Tirath Road, 11 km from Amritsar
This ancient temple is believed to be the ashram of Sage Valmiki, where Goddess Sita gave birth to Lord Rama's twin sons Lav and Kush. The temple complex has a holy tank (Sarovar), where devotees take holy dips, and a very large idol of Lord Hanuman.

5. Shivala Bagh Bhayian Temple - The Shrine of Lord Shiva

A less known but spiritually significant Lord Shiva temple, this is a must-visit temple for devotees. The temple is surrounded by greenery and is known for its celebration of Shivratri - calling thousands of devotees to pray.
